St Andrew’s Ipswich Welcomes Private Rehabilitation Services

Aug 13, 2015

St Andrew’s Ipswich looks forward to the opening of their new rehabilitation unit, which will offer a new service for Ipswich locals requiring rehabilitation services after illness, injury or surgery.

The newly refurbished seven-bed rehabilitation unit has a dedicated gym area with state-of-the-art equipment, treatment and exercise programs. The launch of the unit will align with St Andrew’s Ipswich continued commitment to provide quality, locally based services to the people of the Ipswich and West Moreton Region.

St Andrew’s CEO, Mrs Chris Went, is proud to expand the suite of clinical and medical services within the hospital; eliminating the need for patients to travel for like services.

“The addition of a comprehensive rehabilitation unit at St Andrew’s Ipswich has reinforced Ramsay Health’s support for developing services in areas of unmet need.”

“We are very excited to be able to expand the continuum of care for our orthopaedic patients; promoting recovery close to home, without the need to transfer to Brisbane.”

Chris noted that the team of experienced rehabilitation doctors, nurses and allied health professionals had been handpicked to ensure patients receive the very best of care, close to home.

The unit is supported by Mr Arek Olczak, Unit Manager and Dr Juan Rois Gnecco, Specialist Rehabilitation Medicine Physician. A team of experienced rehabilitation nurses and allied health professionals complement the team.

“We are absolutely committed to ensuring a continuum of care for our patients – from admission, surgery, recovery and rehabilitation, right through to going home, Mr Olczak said.

The unit is set to open in late August and will provide a welcomed choice for patients seeking quality, comfortable care, close to family and friends.
