Maternity Services

St Andrew’s Ipswich Private Hospital provides comprehensive Maternity services to Ipswich, the surrounding communities and suburbs on the western side of Brisbane.

A full maternity service is offered with antenatal classes for parents leading up to the birth, one on one midwifery care during and post labour, along with education and support for the initial care for your baby and specialised lactation assistance for new mothers. We also conduct a Well Baby Clinic that provides continuing parenting education and support during the first twelve weeks after you leave the hospital.

Our twenty three bed Maternity Unit offers a mix of private and some shared accommodation. The rooms are comfortable with ensuites and a modern décor with space for rooming in. Partners are welcome and are encouraged to participate and be involved.

Our unit has three fully equipped birthing suites, a nursery with neonatal cots for babies requiring special care after delivery. Specialist Paediatricians are available to attend deliveries as required and provide clinical assessment of your baby during your stay.

Our Maternity unit is supported by a number of experienced Obstetricians who provide personalised care to each couple and they support each other to ensure safe clinical care is provided twenty four hours a day, across each seven day week.

How to book

Once your pregnancy has been confirmed and you have arranged an appointment with an obstetrician, please fill in our online booking registration form. You will receive an automatic email reply to confirm that your online registration has been received and then a complete package of booking forms will be forwarded to you in the mail. Please note that your maternity booking at St Andrew’s Private is not guaranteed until we have received your completed paperwork. To secure your booking, it is advised that you return your booking forms within two weeks of receiving them.
