Aug 17, 2006

A million dollar development at St Andrew’s Ipswich Private Hospital has been announced by Ramsay Health Care.

The development will include the creation of 10 extra beds at a cost of $1.16m will start immediately following approval of the Development Application by Ipswich City Council.

The announcement follows a recent multimillion dollar refurbishment of all the wards in the hospital.

St Andrew’s Ipswich Private Hospital’s new CEO Chris Murphy, said this would be a significant development for the hospital and would position it well for the future.

He said the new 10 beds to be developed would be a combination of private and shared rooms with ensuites and all rooms would have outlooks which include leafy suburban gardens.

“I am particularly delighted that Ramsay Health Care has made a decision to upgrade the hospital so soon after taking ownership of the hospital last year – it shows that the Company is committed to the provision of quality private healthcare in the Ipswich region.

“In three years, St Andrew’s Ipswich will celebrate its centenary of caring for patients in the Ipswich and surrounding regions. This will be a major milestone for the people and staff of St Andrew’s Ipswich.”

Also planned is the relocation of the Executive Offices into the Cameron Wing which is presently undergoing a minor refit to accommodate these offices.
