Ipswich Mayor Opens New theatres at St Andrew’s

The multi-million dollar redevelopment of St Andrew's Ipswich Private Hospital was officially opened by Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale and Ramsay Managing Director Chris Rex this week.

The multi-million dollar redevelopment of St Andrew's Ipswich Private Hospital was officially opened by Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale and Ramsay Managing Director Chris Rex this week.

The expansion, undertaken by Queensland builders, Evans Harch, includes new operating theatres, procedure rooms, an expanded theatre recovery area as well as a new day of surgery area and discharge lounge.

This new expansion has been well-received by patients, doctors and staff, as it allows greater surgical capacity in the hospital.

St Andrew's Ipswich Private Chief Executive Officer Chris Went the speed with which the development had progressed, allowed the facility to be fully operational in early 2012.

"The completion of the building works marks an important milestone in the hospital's 102 year history," she said.

"This expansion demonstrates our commitment to being the private hospital of choice to residents of Ipswich and surrounding communities, The new development will assist the hospital in meeting the growing demand for private hospital services in the Ipswich region."
