New Equipment assists Ear Nose and Throat Surgeons!

Mar 02, 2012

St. Andrew's Ipswich Private Hospital's ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeons are pleased with new state of the art equipment purchased to coincide with the opening of the new operating theatres. A new Nerve Integrity Monitor (NIM) and ENT stack have been purchased specifically to assist ENT surgery by improving the visualisation of the operative field and ensuring facial nerves are not impacted during surgery.

ENT surgeons, Dr. Bond, Dr. Szallasi and Dr. Bennett are delighted to have upgraded specialised equipment available.

"This equipment will assist us to increase the volume and scope of work we do at St. Andrews and ensure best practice patient care for higher risk patients undergoing all types of ear, nose and throat surgery," Dr. Bond (pictured) commented after his first use of the NIM monitor during a case this week.

St. Andrew's Ipswich Private hospital continues to meet the growing need for health services in the Ipswich and West Moreton community. The hospital now in its 102nd year of operation, offers a range of services to the general community including obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics, orthopaedics, urology, ENT, general surgery and medicine.
