Dr James Lee is an Australian-trained neurosurgeon based at St Andrew’s Private Hospital, Ipswich.
Achieving his medical degree at Trinity College in his hometown of Dublin, he then moved to Australia and underwent residency training in Brisbane at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Dr Lee was accepted to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons specialist training program in Neurosurgery and completed his neurosurgical training at numerous centres of excellence throughout Queensland and New South Wales. He is a Fellow of the RACS, and an active member of the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia.
He has published multiple research papers and was awarded a Master of Philosophy from James Cook University for his research work on cerebral aneurysms.
Dr Lee is comprehensively trained in all areas of brain, spine, and peripheral nerve surgery. He is a strong advocate for excellence in patient care and believes that the best surgical outcomes are underpinned by careful patient evaluation, open and honest communication, and meticulous attention to detail.
When not working, James is a husband, father, keen triathlete and armchair expert in both rugby league and union
