Professor Tripathi is a senior Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon consulting and operating at St Andrew's Ipswich Private Hospital. He is an Associate Professor of Surgery at University of Queensland’s Ipswich Clinical Unit and an Adjunct Professor at University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia.
He completed his General Surgical FRCS from Edinburgh, Scotland and an Advanced Aortic Fellowship from University of Cologne, Germany. In Australia, he trained in Vascular Surgery at the Royal Perth Hospital, Perth WA, that culminated in FRACS in Vascular Surgery in 2005.
Prof Tripathi brings over 25 years of internationally recognised and awarded vascular expertise in the treatments of Aortic Aneurysms, Carotid Artery Disease, Peripheral Arterial Occlusive Disease and Venous Disorders including leg swelling and chronic leg ulcers.
His work has been internationally recognised by many awards including Distinguished Fellow of Society for Vascular Surgery (USA), Distinguished Fellow of American Venous Forum, Honorary Member of European Venous Forum, Asterios Katsamouris Lecture by the European Society for Cardiovascular Surgery, Egas Moniz Medal from University of Lisbon, Portugal and Prof Vira Reddi Oration of Vascular Society of India in 2023. He was inducted into Sigma Xi Honors Research Society in 2017.
Prof Tripathi’s academic recognition includes distinguished visiting Professorships to Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery of Stanford University, Palo Alto, California, USA and Mayo Clinic and Mayo School of Medicine, Rochester, USA and Karolinska University Hospitals and Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden
Prof Tripathi embraces evidence based, holistic and minimally invasive approach to patient management and has an active research focus with publications, presentations and editorships in major vascular journals including Journal of Vascular Surgery, Journal of Endovascular Therapy, Journal of Cardiovascular Surgery, Vascular, International Angiology, Aorta, Annals of Vascular Surgery, Asian Journal of Surgery and Endovascular Today.
Supported by a superb Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at St. Andrews Ipswich Private Hospital, Prof Tripathi has introduced many new endovascular and open surgeries for the very first time in Ipswich region in the last 4 years, thereby making treatments available locally, and virtually eliminating the need to travel to central Brisbane for complex vascular surgeries.
